THE PASADENA TAR PITS!

Many of us questioned the City Fathers' wisdom when they decided to purchase the La Brea Tar Pits and move them to Pasadena!  Who would pay for this and did we really want people tracking tar all over the place?

As it turned out, the purchase was a smart one.  Known for millions of years    as the La Brea Tar Pits, these giant, bubbling cauldrons are now called            The Pasadena Tar Pits and they attract dozens of tourists each year!

And anyone needing to patch their roof or driveway can show up with a bucket

and help themselves to all the tar they need!

Of course, immediately after the Tar Pits were installed, there was a

four hundred per cent spike in the crime rate, since the Pasadena

Prison for the Criminally Insane had been demolished to make

room.  But most of the inmates ended up intermarrying with the

Republicans, and pretty much blended in.
